01 Sep Driver Taking Selfie Crashes into Tree
A driver in Orient, Maine attempting to take a “Selfie” caused a car accident that injured multiple people.
The accident occurred near Deering Lake Road in Orient.
A 29-year-old Jordan Toner who was driving seven passengers, leaned in to join a group selfie but veered off the road and crashed into a tree.
Two females were sitting in the front seat. Among the two, one suffered a fractured nose and a cut above her eye. The other female passenger complained of neck and possible back injury.
Both passengers were transported to Houlton Regional Hospital.
Authorities claim the females were not wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.
Two other male passengers suffered cuts near their eyes and their back.
Toner will have to appear in court for failing to maintain control of a motor vehicle because he was distracted.
