Sweet James has been a fan of the Sex Pistols since his youth and Jonesy’s Jukebox since it debuted in 2003. But when Indie 103 stopped broadcasting, Jonesy’s Jukebox got moved to KROQ for a brief stint Sunday nights.After a few meetings with the program directors at 95.5 KLOS, Jam
es discovered they were excited about the idea of bringing Jonesy back for an afternoon show. James had no choice but to make it happen.
Steve Jones was heard spinning classic rock’s deep cuts on Friday noon-2pm on Jonesy’s Jukebox (powered by Sweet James) with the comeback in in 2010. It ran for 3 years and went off air. For a short stint in 2015 it came back, but now off the air, we await for its triumphant return and Sweet James to join Jonesy once again.

“There’s a bottomless pit of great old rock classics that are never even touched. It’s exciting for me to turn listeners on to that stuff,” Jones says of his ever-changing playlist.
“The whole thing for me is you’re doing it live there in the studio, as opposed to podcasts or whatever. I love the fact that I’m on the radio live locally. I guess it’s just an old-school thing. The way those ’70s DJ would pick their own songs instead of just filling space between a set that’s already been laid out and they have no control over. That’s what I love, and I’ll do it as long as they’ll let me.”
